                                                                                                      ןיִדַּה ויָלָע ררֵוֹעְתִמ ןוֹשָׁלַּה אְטֵח ידְֵי לַעֶשׁ ,רַאֹבְי וֹבּ
                 In this chapter I will explain that by virtue of the                                 ,ךְֶפֶהְלוּ .הָבוֹח ויָלָע ןידְִמַּלְמ תרֵָשַּׁה יֵכֲאְלַמוּ ,הָלְעַמְל
                 sin of Lashon Hara, the Attribute of Strict Justice
                 is  aroused  Above  and  the  attending  angels  will                                ,הָלְעַמְל תוּכְז ויָלָע ןידְִמַּלְמ ,וֹרֵבֲח לַע בוֹט רֵבּדְַמֶּשְׁכּ
                 prosecute against the speaker.  But in an opposite                                                   .םיִנָיְנִע הָמַּכּ דוֹעְו
                 sense,  when  one  speaks  well  of  his  fellow  Jew,
                 Heaven accounts it as a merit.  I will also speak                                 אָתוּכְלַמְבּ טָפְּשִׁמ הֶזיֵא ויָלָע שֵׁיֶּשְׁכּ ,םָדָאָה ךְרֶֶדִּמ הֵנִּה
                                 about other topics.
                                                                                                   תוֹחדְִל וֹתְּלָכְי לָכְבּ לֵדַּתְּשִׁמ אוּה ,)ץרֶָאָה תוּכְלַמ( אָערְַאְדּ

               It is  the  nature  of  man  when  confronted with  a governmental                  תוֹקַּנְל תוּכְז וֹל אֵצָמִּי ךְָכּ ךְוֹתְבּ ןֶפּ ,רֵחַא ןַמְזִל טָפְּשִׁמַּה
               judgment to strive with all of his might to defer the judgment to                   .אוּה  ךְָכּ  ןֵכּ  םַגּ  )םִיַמָשַּׁה(  אָיַּמְשִׁדּ  אָתוּכְלַמְבוּ  .וֹמְצַע
               some later time; perhaps in the intervening time he will find some
               merit to absolve himself.  Heaven’s system of justice works in                      וֹמְשׁ זָא רֵכָזִּי אלֶֹּשׁ ,םָדָאָל בוֹט )סַעַכּ ןַמְזִבּ( אָחְתרִ ןַדִּעְבּ
               this same way.  In times of great anger Above it befits man not to                  אָליֵמִּמ הֶז ידְֵי לַע יִכּ .וֹל הֶיְהִי הָבוֹטְל אלֹ יִכּ ,הָלְעַמְל
               have his name mentioned On High because it will not bode well
               for him.  Mentioning his name (during those times) will only                        רָבָדַּל רֶכֵזְו .הָלְעַמ לֶשׁ ןיִדַּבּ בָיַּח זָא אֵצֵיְו ,ויָתוֹנוֲֹע וּרְכָזִּי
               serve (for Heaven) to recall his transgressions and he will emerge
               guilty from Heaven’s judgment.  Illustrating this concept is the                    יִהְיַו" :)'ב-'א 'א תוּר( בוּתָכֶּשׁ .יִמֳעָנ שׁיִא ךְֶלֶמיִלֱאֶדּ הֵשֲׂעַמ
               example of Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, where the pasuk relates                      וֹתְּשִׁאְו אוּה 'וּכְו הָדוּהְי םֶחֶל תיֵבִּמ שׁיִא דרֵֶיַּו ץרֶָאָבּ בָערָ
               (Ruth 1:1-3) “There was a famine in the land and a man left Beit
               Lechem…the man, his wife and his two sons.  And the name                            ,'וֹגְו יִמֳעָנ וֹתְּשִׁא םֵשְׁו ךְֶלֶמיִלֱא שׁיִאָה םֵשְׁו ויָנָב יֵנְשׁוּ
               of the man was Elimelech and his wife’s name was Naomi…                             ,)'א  ז"ע  תוּר  שָׁדָח  רַהֹז(  ל"ַזֲח  וּרְמָאְו  ."'וֹגְו  ךְֶלֶמיִלֱא  תָמָיַּו
               and Elimelech died….”  Chazal have taught (Zohar Chadash on
               Sefer Ruth 77:1) that it was for this reason that at first his identity             םיִמֲחרַָה תַדִּמ הָתְצרֶָשׁ םוּשִּׁמ ,אָמָתְסִבּ הָלִּחְתּ רַכְּזֻה ךְָכְלִדּ
               was not revealed because the Attribute of Compassion wanted                         ןיִדַּה ףקֶ ֹּת רֵבַּגְּתִנ יִכּ בָערָ זָא הָיָהֶשׁ ,וֹמְשׁ תֶא םיִלְעַהְל
               to hide his name since the famine was ravaging the land and the
               Attribute of Strict Justice was gaining power.  The Attribute of                    םֵשְׁו וֹמְשׁ תֶא הָטרְֵפוּ ,ןיִדַּה תַדִּמ הָחיִנִּה אלְֹו .ץרֶָאָה לַע
               Strict Justice would not allow the Attribute of Compassion to                       ,'ה יֵניֵעְבּ םיִבוֹט אלֹ וּיָהֶשׁ ,םֶהיֵשֲׂעַמ וּרְכְּזִנְו .וֹתיֵבּ לָכּ
               hide his identify and revealed Elimelech’s name and the names of
               his entire family.  In so doing their actions were recognized as not                שֶׁנֹעָה ויָלָע לָח ףֶכֵתְו ,ץרֶָאְל ץוּחְל ץרֶָאָהֵמ וּאְצָיֶּשׁ הֶמַּבּ
