               disregards something will cause it to harm him, but one who is                      םַגּ אוּה אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּה םֵלַּשְׁמֶּשׁ םוּלְשַׁתַּהְו ,ויָתוְֹצִמ
               observant of mitzvot will be repaid.”  The Vilna Gaon comments
               on this as follows: “There are 248 organs in man corresponding                      םָדָאָהֶשׁ ןָויֵכּ ,אוּה ןָיְנִעָה אָלֶּא .תוְֹצִמַּה תרַיִמְשׁ ןַיְנִעְבּ ןֵכּ
               to 248 positive mitzvot.   So too everything derives its source                     רֹזֲעַי ,ןָמְיּקְַל וֹחֹכְבּ שֵׁיֶּשׁ תוְֹצִמ הֶזיֵא רֹמְשִׁל וֹמְצַעְבּ קֵזַּחְתִמ

               of life from the mitzvot.  Thus anyone who disregards a mitzvah
               is  harming  (destroying)  himself  since  he  now  lacks  the  life-               ,תוְֹצִמַּה לָכּ רֹמְשִׁל הֶכְּזִיֶּשׁ ,ףוֹסַּבְל אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּה וֹל
               sustaining power provided by that mitzvah.  But one who is fearful                  תֶמֱאֶבּ יִכּ[ .וֹמְצַע יֵנְפִבּ ןָדִּע הָּל שֵׁי הָוְצִמוּ הָוְצִמ לָכּ יִכּ
               not to neglect any mitzvah and strives to uphold every mitzvah
               will be complete in all of his organs.  (The Gaon is quoted up                      םָלוֹעָל םָדָאָה לֶשׁ וֹתָמְשִׁנ דירִוֹהֶשְׁכּ ,אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּה
               until this point).  It is well known that there are many mitzvot that
               are contingent on the power of man’s speech, as we explained                        אוּהְו ,םיקִָסֲע ג"ַירְַתּ לֶשׁ ברַ רָצוֹא וֹדָי תַחַתּ ןַתָנ ,הֶזַּה
               in the Introduction to Sefer Chafetz Chayim, as are the many                        םָדָאָהֶשׁ אָלֶּא ,הָּלֶּשׁ תוְֹצִמ ג"ַירְַתַּה םִע הָשׁוֹדְקַּה הרָוֹתַּה
               parshyot that are dependent on the expression of man’s speech,
               as I explained in the second volume of Sefer Shemirat HaLashon.                     לַע וּמְיּקְַתִי םיִנָיְנִע ג"ַירְַתַּה לָכֶּשׁ ,תוּכְז וֹל הֶיְהִתֶּשׁ ךְירִָצ
               Accordingly (emphatically) how many wounds and bruises will                                                   .]וֹדָי
               be found on this person because of this. It even suffices for one
               to ponder only this one point.
                                                                                                   שֵׁי הֶזַּה םָלוֹע יֵנְיְנִעְבֶּשׁ םֵשְׁכֶּשׁ ,עדַיֵל וּנָא םיִכירְִצ יִכּ

               But one who does not care to make sure his speech conforms to                       תוּיִּחְצִנ יֵנְיְנִעְבּ ןֵכּ ,םָדָי לַע רֵשַּׁעְתִמ םָדָאָהֶשׁ םיִנָיְנִע הָמַּכּ
               the laws of the Torah is conducting himself as a foolish servant.
               (By way of a parable) There was a large hotel with many rooms;                      יִמֶּשׁ ,אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּה לֶשׁ וֹדָיְבּ ןוּקִּתַּה יקְֵלֶח הָמַּכּ שֵׁי
               outer rooms, middle rooms and inner rooms, and they were all                        תוֹלֲעַל הֶכוֹזְו ,םיִנָיְנִעָה םָתוֹא וֹל ןיִמְזַמ ,ויָניֵעְבּ ןֵח אָצָמֶּשׁ
               prepared  for  guests,  each  guest  according  to  his  status.    The
               hotel owner instructed his staff regarding a very wealthy guest                     תוּקְזַּחְתִהְבּ יוּלָתּ ןֵחַה תַאיִצְמ ןַיְנִעְו .םָדָי לַע הָלוֹדְגּ הָלֲעַמְבּ
               who was occupying one of the inner rooms to be very careful                         .ךְרַָבְּתִי ויָנָפְל ַחוּר תַחַנ תוֹשֲׂעַל וֹבָבְל לָכְבּ הרָוֹתַּה םוּיּקְִבּ
               and attend to all of his needs so that nothing would be missing,
               neither in the preparations of his food nor in any of his other                     אָנָתּ( שׁרָדְִמַּבּ אָתיִאְדּ הַמ ַעוּדָי אלֲֹה ,ערָָה ןוֹשָׁל ןַיְנִעְלוּ
               needs.    In  the  middle  room  is  another  guest  whose  needs  the
               staff must also attend to, but not with the same attention as the                   לַע לֵא תיֵבּ ןֵה ֹּכ הָיְצַמֲא ןיִשְׁלִהֶשְׁכּ :)ט"י ז"י הָבּרַ וּהָיִּלֵא יֵבְדּ
               needs of the wealthy guest.  And in the outer rooms designated                      'ז סוֹמָע( רַמָאְו ,שָׁאוֹי ןֶבּ םָעְברָָי ךְֶלֶמַּה יֵנְפִל איִבָנַּה סוֹמָע
               for ordinary people who are guests, whom he only charges the
               cost of sleeping in the hotel; they only merit minimal attention.                   לֵארְָשִׂיְו םָעְברָָי תוּמָי ברֶֶחַבּ רַמָאֶשׁ סוֹמָע ךָיֶלָע רַשׁקָ" :)'י
               But this attendant was a fool and did just the opposite.  All of the                וֹתוֹא רַמָא אלֹ :םָעְברָָי וֹל ביִשֵׁה ."וֹתָמדְַא לַעֵמ הֶלְגִי הלָֹגּ
               preparations were directed to the outer rooms and then only to
                                                                                                   שׁוֹדָקַּה יִפִּמ אָלֶּא ,רַמָא וֹמְצַע יִפִּמ אלֹ ,רַמָא םִאְו ,ךְָכּ קיִדַּצ
