He was concerned that he saw among the Israelites ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−ÐëíÖêÖþÓLñÔ¼BñèÔêÖc
wicked people who were informers. ,ö−ÌþB¬ÖñÑcó−̼ÖLÐþ
He thus thought: if this is so íÖzÔ¼Ñô,þÔôÖê
then perhaps they do not deserve to be redeemed. :ñÑêÖbÌíÐñö−Ì−eêÐþóÖò−ÑêêÖnÓL

But the midrashic interpretation is: 54 :BLÖþÐðÌôe
“The thing has become known to me, þÖëÖcÔí−Ìñ¼ÔðBò
for I had been wondering about it. ,î−ÖñÖ¼ÔdÑôÖ³−̳−Ì−ÖíÓL
In what respect was Israel’s sin ñÑêÖ þÐNÌ−eêЬÖìíÓô
more than that of all the seventy nations, ³Bneê ó−̼ÐëÌLñÖkÌô
to be subjugated by oppressive work. ,CÓþÓt³ÔðBëμÔaó−ÌcÐþÌò ³B−ÐíÌñ

He handed him over to the executioner to be killed BèÐþÖíÐñþÖò−̬нBšÐñBþÖ½Ðô
but the sword had no effect on him. 56 ,ëÓþÓìÔíBëíÖ¬ÐñÖLêGÐî
That is what Moshe referred to when he said: ,íÓLô þÔôÖêÓL êeí
“He saved me from Pharaoh’s sword.” 57 :íÒ¼ÐþÔtëÓþÓìÑô−ÌòÑñÌvÔiÔî
