Nurse-Family Partnership
Our Nurse-Family
Partnership (NFP)
utilizes an evidence-
based model of
parent support
provided at no
cost to more than
1,000 low-income
mothers and their
children in the Bronx
and Nassau County.
The program pairs a nurse with a rst-time mother-to-be,
starting as early in the pregnancy as possible and
continuing to the child’s second birthday. The nurse:
• Provides health and safety education
• Monitors the mother’s and infant’s health
• Educates mothers about baby’s cues and activities
that foster the child’s growth and development
• Works with mothers to set and achieve goals that lead
to advanced education, nding employment and
self-su ciency
