Criteria
Medication may be pre-poured for up to 7 days unless the
patient meets the criteria for a 14 day pre-pour, which
means patients must:
o Be maintained on a stable medication regimen without
frequent changes.
o Demonstrate compliance with medication schedule and pre-
pour method.
o Demonstrate no history of adverse reactions to current
medication regimen.
Patients on Coumadin are not eligible for pre-pour for
greater than 7 days.

Equipment
Various items may be used as receptacles for medications,
such as:
• Medication boxes
• Envelopes
• Small plastic “baggies”
