Meteorology
3.11 Meteorological information
(Meteorologi 6 - 2 videoer)
To make a meteorological service work, international cooperation is crucial.
The framework for this cooperation is outlined in ICAO Annex 3. Denmark has
no amendments to the prescribed procedures.
DMI, the Danish Meteorological Institute, is responsible for providing
meteorological services for civil aviation in Denmark.
The forecasts, analyses, and outlooks that you receive via meteorologists or TV
come from DMI.
3.11.1 NorthAviMet
Overall, pilots receive weather information from NorthAviMet.
NorthAviMet collects data from:
- Airports
- Weather stations
- Radiosondes
- Satellites
- Weather radar
- AIRrep (pilots)
NorthAviMet uses data from DMI, SMHI (Swedish Meteorological and
Hydrological Institute), and other sources for their information and forecasts.
The weather charts, weather reports, and meteorological observations we will
look at in this section are all sourced from NorthAviMet.
As a student at the school, you can access NorthAviMet by contacting the
school.
