Communication

When exchanging messages within the same call, the call sign can be omitted.

An aircraft of the "HEAVY" category must add "HEAVY" to the call sign during

the initial call. For example, "STERLING 543 HEAVY."

The aircraft type may be used in the call sign, e.g. “Cessna OY-TLA”. The

abbreviation for this call sign is as stated above.

                 Cessna LA or Cessna TLA.

Ultralight aircraft have the call sign OY-xxxx (number) e.g.: OY-9308

During exchanges within the same call, the call signs may be omitted, if you are

sure that no misunderstandings will occour.

The full call sign must be used:

                 - for initial take-off

                 - if there is a possibility of confusion with other aircraft
                 - for distress and urgency messages

                 - messages regarding radio failure
