4.12.1.1 Radio silence and cancellation of radio silence
The aircraft in distress or the aeronautical station that has taken control of the
distress traffic may impose radio silence on others who interfere with the
exchange of distress traffic by transmitting:
All stations - The aeronautical station's call sign, "Stop transmitting, Mayday".
Ex:
ALL STATIONS
ROSKILDE TOWER
STOP TRANSMITTING
MAYDAY
When the aircraft that has transmitted Mayday is no longer in a distress
situation, it shall transmit cancellation thereof to the controlling aeronautical
station as follows:
The aeronautical station's call sign – the aircraft's call sign – "Cancel distress"
Ex:
ROSKILDE TOWER
OY BKA
CANCEL DISTRESS
Engine running, returning to Roskilde
The controlling aeronautical station shall, when distress traffic has ceased and
radio silence is no longer necessary, transmit:
All stations - The aeronautical station's call sign, "distress traffic ended".

ALL STATIONS
ROSKILDE TOWER
DISTRESS TRAFFIC ENDED
