- By using the phrase “cancel distress”, he calls off the helicopter and rescue

services.

- Roskilde TWR can restore normal traffic on the frequency by sending the

phrase EMERGENCY TRAFFIC ENDED

4.12.3 Messages regarding bearings

If you become uncertain about your position en route, you can get assistance

with navigation.

If you are in contact with an air traffic service unit that has radar, you can get

radar-based bearings.

Some airports have a VHF Direction Finder. This is equipment that indicates the

direction of aircraft that are transmitting on the frequency.

It is important that other aircraft make room on the frequency when directions

are to be given. Therefore, these messages are also given higher priority than

the regular messages regarding flight safety.

If there is a bracket in which VDF is written, it means that there are VHF

directions on this frequency.
