Then, in order, as many of the following items as possible:
a) The call sign of the station to which the message is intended, possibly "To
all stations".
b) Your own full call sign.
c) Description of the emergency situation.
d) The commander's intentions.
e) The position, altitude and course of the aircraft.
f) Other relevant information for use in any search.
Every station is obliged to follow a distress call until the necessary assistance
has been provided. Every aircraft that hears a distress call must enter it in the
aircraft record (logbook).

The called aeronautical station or the first station responding to the distress
message shall:
a) immediately acknowledge the aircraft's call sign, followed by its own call
sign and the phraseology "ROGER MAYDAY ".

b) take control of the communication or, as the case may be, transfer it to
another person while simultaneously informing the aircraft accordingly.
c) notify all appropriate persons in accordance with the alerting plan.
