Principles of flight
(shown here in green) moves upwards, and a
downward force is created on the tail.
The nose is primarily lifted and the aircraft climbs. Secondarily, the speed
decreases. The opposite is true if the steering wheel is moved forward.
5.6.1.2 The aileron
If the stick is moved to the right, the right aileron will move upwards, and a
downward force will be created on the right wing. The left aileron will move
downwards, and the lift is created on the left wing.
The primary effect is a bank to the right.
Secondary aileron effect:
1. When the aircraft banks to the right, the lift vector will tilt to the right
2. A horizontal force causes the aircraft to sideslip to the right
3. Wind on the side causes the aircraft to turn to the right (lateral center
behind the center of gravity).
