Principles of flight


               Differentiated aileron deflection


               The upward aileron moves up more

               than  the  downward  aileron  moves

               down  (as  shown  here  on  the  right,

               top).




               Frieze aileron

               The outer part of the upward aileron


               goes  down  into  the  free  air  flow
               under  the  wing  and  creates  form

               drag.




               Control lines


               The control lines  are rigged so  that

               aileron deflection causes the rudder

               to also be activated.




               The illustrations below and the next page show how the drag is changed by the

               above design changes.




               The  aileron  changes,

               as shown here, cause

               the aircraft to turn to

               the desired side due

               to  the  changed  drag

               at the wing tips.
