Operational procedures

                6.2    ICAO regulations                      (Operationelle procedurer 1 - 2 videoer)

                Aircraft in Denmark operate under international ICAO regulations, which must

                be followed. This means that there is a lot of paperwork related to an aircraft

                and the aircraft's right to fly, which must be in order for us to fly.

                There are also a lot of requirements for the pilot, which must be followed, so

                that he can safely and responsibly pilot the aircraft.

                6.2.1     ICAO Annex 6 part 2

                ICAO Annex 6 part 2 sets the international framework for non-commercial

                aviation operations, so that the flight is carried out in a safe and responsible
                manner, while giving individual countries the flexibility to adapt the regulations

                according to their local conditions.

                Here is an excerpt from Annex 6:
                  Level of safety. The Annex should ensure an acceptable level of safety to third parties (third parties
                  meaning persons on the ground and persons in the air in other aircraft). Also, as some international
                  general aviation operations will be performed:
                  a) by crews less experienced and less skilled;
                  b) by less reliable equipment;
                  c) to less rigorous standards; and
                  d) with greater freedom of action than in commercial air transport operations;
                  it has to be accepted that the passenger in international general aviation aircraft will not
                  necessarily enjoy the same level of safety as the fare-paying passenger in commercial air transport.
                  However, it was recognized that in ensuring an acceptable degree of safety for third parties, an
                  acceptable level of safety for flight crews and passengers would be achieved.
                  Freedom of Action. The maximum freedom of action consistent with maintaining an acceptable
                  level of safety should be granted to international general aviation.

                It is written in Annex 6 that procedures and safety should not be as demanding

                for the small aircraft we operate as for commercial routes and cargo flights.

                However, the third person must be secured.

                Although it sounds a bit uncertain, I think we should strive to make flying as

                safe as possible, and that we should protect the reputation of general aviation
                and remember that bad publicity affects the entire industry.

                The EASA legislation in this area is found in EU 965/2012 ANNEX 7 part NCO.

                The Danish legislation related to Annex 6 PART 2 is BL 5-61.
