Flight performance and planning

                7.8 Aircraft condition

When talking about the aircraft's peak performance, the aircraft's condition must
                of course also be top-notch.

The wing and especially the wing leading edges must be clean and free of ice and

snow, which can both damage the aerodynamic effect and increase the flying

                weight.

Certain motor gliders and UL aircraft cannot take off with water on the upper side

                of the wing.

So, in addition to the fact that the aircraft looks clean and shiny after polishing, it

also has a noticeable effect on the aircraft's performance.

So far we have looked at how we find the aircraft's performance from charts. We
have had weight and balance done, and we have made take-off and landing

                calculations.

Now we will see what we use this information for in practice.
