9.8.3.4 From pressure altitude and temperature to density altitude
Task:
You are flying at 10,000 feet, temp ÷
30 degrees, IAS 130 KT
What is TAS?
What is density altitude?
Same procedure as above. We read in the DENSITY window.
If you got 145 KT and 7000 feet, that is OK.
9.8.3.5 Converting degrees
Converting from °C to °Fahrenheit is
done on a scale at the bottom of the
front.
9.8.3.6 Converting units
When using the computer to convert units, remember to stay within the same
main areas:
- Length: Meter, kilometer, Nautical mile, statute mile, foot, yards.
- Volume: Liter, Us. Gallon, Imp. Gallon
- Weight units: Kilo, Lbs (pounds)
A special scaling has been made so that in a setup we can read Liter, Us. Gall,
weight in Kg and Lbs, when we are given a specific gravity (Specific Gravity SP.G).
All these units are fixed on the outer scale.
When you need to convert, you find the unit on the outer. You find the number
of units you need to convert on the inner scale and put it under the unit.
