It was 105 KTS that we needed, so the slider needs to be slightly forward.
Can you see that the number 2 on the wind arm (meaning 20 KTS) intersects the
105 KTS arc?
Follow the point of intersection up to the numbers for
wind correction (the blue auxiliary line). You can see
o
that the wind correction angle is +11 (+ since it is to
the right)
Groundspeed (GS) is read in the hole. Here the GS is
midway between 100 and 106 - so 103 KTS.
There are other ways to do it, but this was the one we had chosen.
On the CRP1 computer (the computer
without the wind arm), the setup can look
like this:
- The direction the plane is to fly is set
under the index: 220 is set under
- Our TAS 105 is set in the grommet
- The 20 KTS wind, which comes from
the right side, is marked with a dot 20
under 105 down the centerline
Then you have to turn the rotating part so that the
wind direction 310 will be under the index.
You can now read:
o
- We have a wind correction angle of +11 (since
the dot is to the right)
- We have a ground speed of 103 KTS
