Communication
4.1 Introduction (video BEG 1)
It is important to use the right words (phrases) and terms when communicating
so that you know where you stand with each other. One of the biggest plane
crashes happened precisely because of unclear language (the Tenerife disaster).
Every time an accident occurs, the circumstances are analyzed thoroughly, and
this has led to many changes in the way instructions and permissions are given
to an aircraft.
The subject Communication is one of 9 subjects that must be passed in order to
obtain a Private Pilot License.
When the subject is passed, it also counts as passed theory for the Radio
Certificates BEG (Danish and English), which are studied separately either
subsequently or concurrently with you studying the other 9 PPL subjects.
4.2 The Radio Certificate
The radio certificate is a separate certificate that you MUST have if you want to
obtain a private pilot certificate.
And even though it has nothing to do with the PPL, LAPL or UL certificate, you
will still get a few pages about it here, so you are prepared if there are questions
about it on the KOM exam.
4.2.1 Radio certificates – types
There are different types of radio certificates. The 3 types that are related to
private flying are:
- BEG with Danish language endorsement (BEG-Danish)
BEG-Danish is a nationally certificate, which only allows you to use Danish
language in radio communication, you are not allowed to use it abroad.
