4.4 Using maps, VFG and choosing frequencies
4.4.1 VFR maps
When we need to find
out who we should call
to get the radio service
we want, we can study
the VFR map. Many
frequencies for your
route are listed here.
You can find the map
here: VFR map
4.4.2 VFG Flight Guide
If we are going to land at an airport, there are several frequencies for air traffic
service units’ that we may need. These information’s can be found in VFG (Visual
Flight Guide). Available at: https://aim.naviair.dk/
Below you see a section of a page from the VFG. The section shows, among other
things, radio frequencies at EKRK (Roskilde).
In the bottom frame you can see that Roskilde Approach (APP) has a frequency
of 125.525 MHz.
Roskilde TOWER (TWR) has 2 frequencies and the emergency frequency of
121.500, which is constantly monitored at Roskilde Airport.
