Communication

                 4.10.3.4 Transponder codes

Back to our flight from Roskilde to Stauning.

At Roskilde, we were asked to SQUAWK 4231. This means we need to set the

                 transponder to 4231.

                    - SQUAWK Stand By means you should set the selector to Stand By.

                    - SQUAWK mode CHARLI means you should set the selector to ALT

                        (Altitude).

                    - SQUAWK IDENT means you should activate the Ident program by
pressing the IDENT button. Your transponder reply will then light up on

                        the controller's radar screen.

Do not press IDENT unless you have been asked to do so!

                 4.10.4 En-route procedures

Now we have exited the Roskilde control zone. If the flight should be performed

at a higher altitude than 1500 ft, we would need clearance to climb into the

Roskilde TMA. However, that is not necessary for this flight.

We need to stay informed to get traffic information and alert service, we

                 contact Copenhagen Information.

Copenhagen Information has an east and a west frequency. Often, the same

                 person is operating both frequencies.

On the ICAO chart, you can see the division between the east and west

frequencies. When you fly, you switch frequencies when crossing from one

                 area to another.

Make a radio check after changing the frequencies if necessary.
