         27 February 1969, IHM Lucknow came into existence in its early form as 'Food Craft Institute' at Ashok Marg,
         Lucknow, in a small building under Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Food, Uttar Pradesh. This was just the
         beginning of a great journey of an Institute, which was going to set up many milestones in the field of hospitality,
         together with a team of Mentors, Culinary Experts, Teachers and Students.




                                  The Institute took its first glide under the administration of Late Dr. Waman Bhaskar
                                  Date. The institute initially offered Courses in Canning and Food Preservation and 6
                                  months Certificate Courses in Cookery, Bakery & Confectionary. In the later years, Dr.

                                  Date added few more Certificate Courses in Food & Beverage Service, Front Office
                                  Operations,  Housekeeping,  and  Hobby  Courses  (Housewife  courses,  Part  time
                                  Sunday Classes, Table laying classes).
