ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This being a very important edition, we experience immense pleasure
and a sense of responsibility to be chosen as the Editor for Golden Jubilee
edition of IHM Lucknow Annual Magazine 'Manthan' for the session 2018-

19. The word 'Manthan' signifies churning or brainstorming of thoughts and is
also linked with ancient philosophy, where Good & Evil churned the ocean with a
mountain for nectar of Immortality, likewise IHM Lucknow represents that mountain
which in turn churns the ocean of knowledge and imparts it with methodical skills to provide
best talent to the hospitality industry.

Since 1969, IHM Lucknow has always marked its excellence in all the leading hospitality chains all round the
globe through its Alumni. In this special edition of annual magazine we have tried to showcase the Journey of
IHM Lucknow along with all the faculty and staff members so far contributed in establishing IHM Lucknow as a
brand in the field of Hospitality education. It was indeed a task of greater responsibility and it could not have been
possible without the cooperation of teaching fraternity, staff members and our alumni from industry.

We would like to verbalize our unfeigned gratitude towards Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra, Principal, all HODs and Faculty
members for their consistent help and support in making this piece of art a reality.

We wish to render gracious thanks to Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra, Principal, Mr. R. K. Sharma, HOD, Mr. R.K. Singh, Sr.
Lecturer, Mrs. Sujata Mathur, Sr. Lecturer, Mrs. Sonali Tiwari, Lecturer, Mr. Avinash Kumar Singh, Lecturer,
Mrs. Pratima Bhatia for compiling information for 'Alumni profile' section of magazine.

A special thanks to Mrs, Suman Singh (Ex - Principal, IHM Lucknow), Mr. Balbir Singh, Mr. C.A. Das, Mr.
Rakesh gupta (Alumni, 1983 batch), Mr. G. S. Chauhan, Mrs. Sarita Awasthi & Mrs. Vineeta Dubey for
providing us with images and information for reviving fading memories in the 'History of IHM Lucknow'
column of magazine. We would also like to acknowledge our heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors for their trust.

Our deepest gratitude towards faculty advisor Mr.Vinod Pandey and Mr. Ankit Dambhare for their continuous
support and guidance at every step in developing the manuscript of the magazine.

Last but not the least, we are grateful to the entire Manthan team for their innumerous efforts and teamwork for

successfully publishing this special 16th edition of annual magazine.

We hope that this magazine with its different sections will certainly make readers touched, nostalgic, dignified,
proud, enriched and entertained. Though every care and precaution has been taken in publishing this magazine,
please be rational for any unintentional errors and omissions.
