                 SURFERS BACK IN THE WATER


               AS LOCKDOWN STARTS TO EASE



























                                                                                                            As beaches around the world begin to re-open following the
                                                                                               Coronavirus pandemic, surfers are once again taking to the waves.
                                                                                       Recently, the British Government eased some lockdown restrictions,
                                                                                  including the restrictions surrounding exercise meaning surfers could take
                                                                            advantage of the recent improved swells off the British coasts.

                                                  The North East of England has seen almost daily swells peaking at 3-5ft with improving
                                       weather conditions predicted for the foreseeable future.  However, the Government is still stressing
             the need for the public to remain vigilant and to stay safe by continuing with social distancing.

             The World Surf League is also due to restart at the beginning of July at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa when it hosts the
             2020 Corona Open.  It will be the first championship event for the year due to the  pandemic.

             The WSL have been keeping the surfing spirit alive by playing repeats of past events via their website.  This week
             (20th - 22nd May) WSL Rewind  revisits the 2017 Corona Open at South Africa’s J-Bay.  This can be watched here:
