Ten 天 (sky) - courage and open mind: it made that the ninja faced any type of
situation without hesitation and, of course, made him able to face any circum-
stance after having analyzed it from different points of view.
Chi 地 (earth) - strength and speed: undoubtedly, two qualities that are not always
hand in hand but, in this case, should be inseparable for the shinobi.
Jin 人 (man) - talent and hidden ingenuity: these were two points almost
indispensable for the shinobi of which he did not have to flaunt them or
expose them in public, but to make use of them in their missions.
To conclude I would like to talk about one of the main virtues that
a ninja must have: “to become invisible”.
Not only with mimicry techniques but also managing to
hide what he did not want to be seen and just showing
what he wanted to. This was a tremendously simple
but at the same time a very important point. In
some instinctive way, the human being makes
use of it, but the ninja was a professional
doing it; this made him reach his
most characteristic skill: in-
visibility.
Extrapolating it to the
daily life, it is important
sometimes to go unno-
ticed and not to stand
out too much in a social
environment to avoid
being the focus of envy,
mobbing, etc.
