Day 9: Fly Fishing and the Sights of Stirling. Together with his private driver/ghillie (fishing
guide), Jack will enjoy a half day of fishing in the paradise of Perthshire.

The focus today will be trout fishing in one of the many trout filled rivers in the area. Our
recommendation for Stuart would be a short drive with Sylvia into the charming town of
Dunblane, where the cathedral stands serenely amidst the old-world buildings. Enjoy visiting the
town shops and cafes or take a walk on a number of scenic riverside paths along the Allan Water,
                               th
spanned by a 16 century single arch bridge as it flows through town. Of course, Stuart will be
tempted to hang out at Cromlix!

Spend the afternoon with Sylvia exploring Stirling (20 min from Cromlix), also known as the
“Heart of Scotland” where the Highlands and the Lowlands meet. Start with a visit to Stirling
Castle, one of the most historic and popular castles in Scotland and where Mary Queen of Scots
was crowned and where she spent her early
years. Another essential stop is Old Stirling
Bridge. It was here at the Battle of Stirling
Bridge (1297) where Sir William Wallace and
Sir Andrew Moray led a Scottish army to a
resounding victory over Edward I of England.
Nearby, you can also visit the National Wallace
               Monument, which commemorates Sir William,
who is one of the most powerful and recognized
figures in Scottish history. While never a king,
he is remembered for his consistent opposition of Edward I, who eventually imposed his
