The Proposal
Taking some time to think about Litan's proposal Jim started to work
out a plan of action that he would have to follow. However, the day
after the meeting with Litan he received a phone call from him saying
that he urgently needed to have a web presence and e-mail address
for the new company and could Jim arrange this for the beginning of
next week.
Jim said it could be started but it would not be brilliant given the short
time scale. However, a domain address and embryonic web site could
be started but the following Monday was unrealistic. Nevertheless, if
Litan could let Jim have all the information on the company he would
get started.
Jim then started the process of building a web site.
The first thing was to come up with a name for the company. Litan had
said that the name had to have Euro in the title to give the Indian
market the idea that this was a European company.
After some thought Jim settled on Euro Advanced Technology
Solutions and purchased the domain: and began building an
elementary web site.
Once again Litan was asked for information to populate the site and
subsequently supplied a variety of profiles and basic information on the
product.
However, it soon became apparent that all was not quite as it seemed.
To begin with instead of there being one scientist there turned out to
be three. All of whom were to have their profiles included on the web
site. After a number of e-mails the information on the web site was
edited and amended by the scientists. In addition one photo of a UV
device, supplied by Litan, was removed at the request of the main
scientist.
