A UNIQUE BONDING
S
ometimes some people in the world are extroverts and I belong to that cat-
egory of humans who can be a friend of any Tom, Dick and Harry. I had
taken admission in a new school, no friends in Bangalore. I felt really bad.
After around 3 months, I met two girls named Rhea and Shriya.
They were truly good friends who took away my loneliness
of the past few months. We used to face things together
like owning up the mistakes even if one of us did it. All
went fine until one day when Rhea stopped talking to us.
Both of us were not clear with what made her behave in an
unusual manner. We tried in vain to approach her. We
thought of letting her come to us by herself and waiting
eagerly each day. She had stopped coming to school!!!!
What on earth had happened???
This time we decided to visit her with a beautiful Diwali
Diya as the festival was in the succeeding week. Not only could we settle the misun-
derstanding or whatever made her behave so but also to bring new light to enlight-
en our broken friendship. Much to our surprise, the family had shifted to New Delhi
for her treatment. There was a letter to each of us written separately which was
handed over by the security .
After reading the letter both of us were in tears and I could hardly believe my eyes
that every word in the letter showed that we meant a lot to her. She did not want
us to miss her by any chance and that could happen only if she made her way out of
us.
Her coming back to life is not a reality which she did not disclose to anyone. She
loved us a lot and was finding it very difficult to share her heart felt feelings to us.
She wanted to cry all this out to us and tried several times, but our smiles and hap-
piness was the obstacle.
I took home the Diwali Diya. For the next couple of days I could sense silence in the
whole world. Rhea had a perfect message to be conveyed. Our beloved friend had
donated her organs to three little children and had given them an opportunity to
live. She is alive in all of them. She had left her footprints on earth and I made an
attempt to find out who the recipient of the organs were.
I found all the three with the help of my parents and now I have three good friends
along with Shriya who truly belongs to me. Rhea had already lit the flame of life
among three kids. I have learnt a great lesson that there is nothing more than sac-
rifice, because it gives happiness to the giver and the taker.
