Men’s Locker Room Building Renovation Plan
There are many areas for improvement within the existing
Men’s Locker Room Building. Without an elevator, the building
is inaccessible to people with disabilities. In addition, the stairs
in the building do NOT meet current building code and are
designed to bypass some of the floors. Finally, the space is
not well utilized as the men’s locker area and lounge occupy
the entire first and second floor; and the third floor, which
overhangs the squash courts and was originally designed for
dormitory space, is being used for storage.
The plan proposes renovating the entire Men’s Locker Room
Building. It would include relocating the men’s locker area to
the third floor and the men’s lounge to the second floor. This
would free up space on the first and second floor to expand
the fitness area into the Men’s Locker Room Building from
the Tennis Pavilion. There would also be additional health,
spa and wellness amenities provided including private fitness
studios and a massage suite. The three single hardball squash
courts would be converted into two single international courts,
improving access to and from the courts. This would include
upgrading all infrastructure (which was already planned as part
of the facility maintenance and upgrade plan) and adding a
new elevator, connecting all three floors and the corridor from
the Tennis Pavilion entrance.
