filled with the Holy Spirit, he will find that the love of Jesus
is poured into his heart (Romans 5:5). When a husband is
filled with the Spirit, he loves his wife sacrificially, selflessly
and steadfastly.
When a married couple learns to live and walk in the Spirit,
they will discover that they are clothed with power and the
fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness,
faithfulness, goodness, kindness and self control will cover
their home.

10. The Spiritual Covering Of Humility

I have a most important question for you. What is it that is
going to make a believer – a leader or a husband, come out
from under his spiritual coverings? The answer is a spirit of
independence and pride. Satan tries to infect every believer
with the same 4 stages which caused him to rebel against
God – Pride, Familiarity, Rebellion and Sowing Discord.
The key to staying under the blessings of our spiritual
covering is to clothe ourselves with humility.

That’s why the apostle Peter in writing to leaders says –
“ You younger men, likewise, be submitted to your elders;
and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one
another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace
to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the
mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper
time . . . Be of sober spirit, be on the alert, your adversary, the
devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to
devour”(1 Peter 5: 5-8).
