If we are proud, God will resist us and Satan will “sniff out”
our pride and come to tempt us. However if we are covered
with humility and stay humble, Satan finds it hard to get in.
Besides this God gives us His grace and promotes us at the
proper time.
Why does the Bible tell us repeatedly that God hates the
sin of pride (Proverbs 6:16– 17)? Because it was pride that
turned Lucifer into Satan (Isaiah 14:12–15). When a leader
becomes proud he is setting himself up for a fall. God cannot
promote us if we are not humble.
