them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be
unprofitable for you.”
7. The Spiritual Covering Of The Church - Body Of
Christ
Do you recall, Exodus 13: 21 -22? It records that - “The
Lord was going before the people of Israel in a pillar of cloud
by day to lead them on the way and in a pillar of fire by
night to give them light, that they might travel by day and
by night.”

The people of Israel didn’t have to know the full road map of
where they were going. All they had to do was ask, “Can I see
the pillar of cloud? Can I see the pillar of fire moving?” And
that’s all you and I need to ask – “Do I sense God’s presence
- His conscious presence leading me, my congregation and
my spiritual leaders”?
When the cloud of God’s presence moved, the congregation
moved. They were guided as a congregation by the visible
presence of God. God spoke to Moses and Moses spoke to the
congregation. They were led by the audible voice of God’s
Holy Spirit. When God wanted to provide nourishment for
them, God caused manna to fall within the limits of the
congregation. They were fed and spiritually protected by
being within the congregation.

Dr. Warren Wiersbe tells the story of a missionary who came
to his church in order to raise funds. Dr Wiersbe asked him,
“Which local church do you belong to and to whom are you
