Taksim action. This ban was also on the agenda of the entire coun-
try. Everyone tried to do something to overcome this blockade.
We joined a meeting called by the Halk Cephesi (People’s Front).
There were other politicians there too. The discussion was about
how to get Taksim back. A joint action was planned. The Kazova
workers put their names to it – this was perhaps a first in Turkey.
Our tent action and resistance continued. Our occupation
action had not succeeded but we thought of other actions to make
our voices heard. We thought of blocking the Bosphorus bridge
traffic. It would make our voices heard and it would put our re-
sistance on the country’s agenda, it might even be a first in the
country’s history.
The June (2013) resistance also strengthened our resistance
and was also the first uprising we Kazova workers had experienced.
When we heard about the Gezi Park resistance we headed to Gezi
Park. In the morning, those assembling in the park were not at-
tacked. We went to the park as people were starting to gather. We
came to the tent late in the evening. They were waiting to set up
their tents in the park. In the morning we heard there had been
another attack. Again we went to the park. The tents had been
dismantled. Again they gathered and again the tents were put up.
There was an event in the park. It was very crowded. Another
attack was expected. We waited until late but our own tent resist-
ance was continuing and so we had to go back. And there were
very few of us. In the morning there was another attack and the
die was cast. The police had entered Gezi Park and nobody could
get in. All day long there were small clashes. In the afternoon it
intensified. There was a human sea around Mecidiyekoy and in
