elsewhere, we woke up one day to find that the workshop had
been divided in two by a wall and the other side of the wall was
occupied by Nes Triko, and we learned that the years, lives and
youth we had spent for Kazova Trikotaj had no connection with
the other side. They took the working class for fools, but today we
start our resistance and the bosses of Kazova Trikotaj, Umit So-
muncu and Mustafa Umit Somuncu, do not come out to meet us.
We are 90 workers thrown out of Kazova Trikotaj and we have
started the legal road to secure justice, and every day we are in the
palaces of justice, or in tents or in actions as we have begun resist-
ance to our bosses. We call on all institutions that are on the side
of labour to support us.”
After reading the statement the workers announced while
ending the action, that they would continue to hold their action
on every Wednesday.
Kazova Textile Workers Are Struggling For Their Rights
The Kazova Trikotaj workers, who for four months were not
given wages, bonuses, salaries and seniority and were fired on 31
January 2013, are continuing their actions to demand their rights
from their bosses.
On Wednesday 6 March at 1 pm the Kazova workers gathered
in front of Sisli mosque opened a banner with the words “We will
not let the bosses of Kazova Textiles, Umit Somuncu and Mustafa
Umut Somuncu, take away our rights” and marched to the work-
place in Bomonti. Workers in the area applauded as they marched
past shouting slogans “We are workers, we are right, we will win,
we won’t let Umit Somuncu take away our rights, we don’t want
