The Kazova workers’ factory occupation is an example for re-
sistance. In order to get our rights, every means of resistance is le-
gitimate. For months the thieving bosses did not bother to appear,
then when the factory was occupied they suddenly raised their
heads. In areas where recently the people rose up the and started
to seek their rights, the AKP government in particular started a
chorus of “we respect every kind of protest that does not contain
violence” in an attempt to present legitimate resistance as being
illegitimate. Does not contain violence… They have killed dozens
of our people, knocked out eyes, injured, detained thousands, im-
prisoned people, turned the country into a gas chamber, thrown
people out of work, killed people with work accidents, left people
to go hungry, and this is not violence… It is all legitimate… But if
the people raise their voices and demand their rights, suddenly a
chorus starts, “do not use violence”…
Use of every form of resistance, including violence, is legiti-
mate against these tyrants, thieves and plunderers. There is no
other way we can get our rights.
Look at 10 years of the AKP in power. Did they actually pay
attention to any demand of the people? We did what we did…
They recognised no law… The laws and the courts were there to
intimidate the people. Urban Transformation was about plunder-
ing our homes, and if need be they said “I have a majority in par-
liament”. Every kind of violence, theft and plunder were made
legitimate by their laws. They called us “occupiers” in our own
country. They called us looters. They looked down on us and even
banned us from the city squares.
