distributing food in Ramadan tents to break the fast. By means of
the IHH, the AKP sent an “aid” ship to send “aid”, while workers
are not paid their wages and they cast a covetous eye on their sen-
iority payments. In a “Muslim society” these thieves and plunder-
ers are “charitable employers”.
Umit and Mustafa Somuncu, these “charitable” AKP employ-
ers, plundered four months of wages from workers and billions of
lira worth of seniority. Yes, this is not ordinary theft, this is offi-
cially plunder. And because of this plunder they continue to lead
luxurious lives.
The workers fired on 31 January started resistance to get their
rights back on 27 February. For months they tried to make their
voices heard in the city squares. They went to court to lodge com-
plaints. They applied to labour tribunals. There was no result
forthcoming from the courts. If a bolt goes missing in a factory,
the bosses can say, “I suspect it was that worker”, without any need
for proof or the questioning of witnesses, and the police can de-
tain the worker and take him or her off for questioning. But when
bosses seize four months’ worth of wages and seniority they are
immune.
The system’s laws, the AKP’s courts, the police… All of them
protect thieves and plunderers.
The Kazova textile workers started resistance on 27 February
to get their plundered rights back and since 29 April they have
had a tent in front of the factory. With very varied actions they
tried to make their voices heard.
But those they address are ignoble and insolent… While thiev-
