Workers’ Documentary In The Kazova Resistance Tent
– “Without A Boss 2”
This evening the workers’ film “Without A Boss 2” was
viewed in front of the Kazova resistance tent.
The film, by Metin Yegin and Dilek Colak, told the story of
a firm in Brazil being nationalised by its workers, and this was
watched by the Kazova workers in the resistance and those who
support them.
Kazova Workers: “We Are On Hunger Strike Until We
Get Our Rights”
The Kazova textile workers, who for four months have not
been given wages, seniority or notice and are resisting, carried out
a march in Sisli in Wednesday 31 July. Before the march, at 12
noon, the former chairman of DISK, now a member of parlia-
ment, Suleyman Celebi, visited the tent. He was given information
about the resistance.
At one the workers came together in front of Sisli mosque,
opening a banner with the inscription “WE ARE ON HUNGER
STRIKE UNTIL WE GET OUT RIGHTS FROM THE BOSSES
THE SOMUNCU FAMILY WHO HAVE TAKEN AWAY THE
FRUITS OF OUR LABOUR”. They put on their smocks and
marched to the resistance tent in front of the factory in Bomonti.
“We don’t want charity, we want our rights, long live our Kazova
resistance, we are workers, we are right, we will win, we won’t let
Umit Somuncu take away our rights” were the slogans they
chanted as they read out a press statement in front of the factory.
In the statement they noted that their bosses, the Somuncu family,
