CHOCOLATE SYRUP FROSTING

This is one of my favorite chocolate frostings, because it is both intense and
creamy at the same time. It is as easy to spread onto cupcakes as it is to lick off
the tops! I first tasted this frosting when it was submitted, along with a layer
cake recipe in my Web site’s annual recipe contest, by Maryann Wilkerson of
Arkansas. Now I slather it onto cupcakes, both chocolate-and vanilla-flavored. It
is one of the two recommended frostings for the Best Birthday Cupcakes with
Two Frostings (page 138).
