Banana Split Cake

                 3             sticks  butter
                 2                  c  vanilla wafer cookies -- crushed
                 2                     eggs
                 2                  c  powdered sugar
                 1                pkg  cream cheese -- 8 oz
                 5                     bananas
                 1                can  crushed pineapple -- No. 2
                 1                 lg  Cool Whip®
                 1                  c  nuts -- chopped
                 1                can  Hershey's chocolate syrup -- small
                                       maraschino cherries

               Mix 1 cube butter, melted, with vanilla wafers and put in 13x9 pan.
               Combine remaining butter, eggs, powdered sugar and cream cheese.  Beat
               with electric mixer NOT LESS THAN 15 MINUTES.  Spread over crust. Cover
               with sliced bananas.  Spread with crushed pineapple, drained well. Cover
               all with cool whip.  Sprinkle with nuts and decorate with cherries.
               Drizzle with chocolate syrup.  Refrigerate overnight.

               NOTES : This was a recipe I got when Lynne was in Jobs
                       Daughter's.  It was given to several of us who made the
                       dish for a special even.  It is really good. --ch
