Apricot Cobbler

                 1                 qt  apricot halves in juice
                 1                  c  sugar
                 1/2                c  butter
                 1                  c  flour
                 1                  c  sugar
                 3                tsp  baking powder
                 1               dash  salt
                 1                  c  milk

               Put apricots and sugar in a saucepan, heat to boiling.  Melt butter in a
               shallow pan.  Mix rest of ingredients, pour batter over melted butter.
               Spoon hot fruit over top.  Do not stir!.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30
               minutes.

               NOTES : Try reducing the baking powder to 1 tsp.

                       A recipe on TOH called for 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/2
