A note is required for all absences and must be submitted within (5) days from the date of return to school. (It is
recommended that these notes be submitted immediately upon return to school.) The note must be signed by a
parent/guardian and state the reason for the absence. Medical excuses must be legitimate documents provided and
signed by a licensed/certified health practitioner. Parents are urged to schedule health appointments after school
hours so as not to miss valuable instruction.
Examples of Notes Required From Parents/Guardians:
* Notes to explain an absence
* Notes to explain tardiness
* Notes to request early dismissal
* Notes to excuse the child from recess or physical education class
* Notes to grant permission to attend field trips
* Notes to allow the child to ride home with another child in a car
* Notes to change transportation procedures
* Proper form to take medication
* Notes to inform about an allergic reaction (should be accompanied by a doctor’s note)
Student attendance is very important to your child’s academic success, so please make sure your child is at
school and is on time each and every day!
AWARDS PROGRAM: We will recognize our students each semester at our Awards Program. Students will be
recognized for the first and second nine weeks awards during our program on Wednesday, January 22, 2019, and
students will be recognized for their third and fourth nine weeks awards during our program on Wednesday, May
29, 2019. At these programs, our students will receive encouragement, praise, and awards for their high level of
academic performance.
On January 22, 2019, Grades K-5 will be recognized at 1:15 pm.
On May 29, 2019, Grades 1-4 will be recognized at 1:15 p.m.
Fifth Grade Awards will be at 10:00 a.m.
Kindergarten Awards will be at 8:30 a.m.
· A Honor Roll- Students having an “A” average in each of the content areas on their report cards.
· A-B Honor Roll- Students having either “A’s” or “B’s” on their report cards in each of the content areas.
· End of the Year A Honor Roll- Students final average in each of the subject areas being an “A.”
· End of the Year A-B Honor Roll- Students final average in each of the subject areas being either an “A” or “B.”
Honor roll students will celebrate during lunch each nine weeks with a special treat on the following days:
● November 1
● January 18
● March 29
● May 28
ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM: The purpose of the Attendance Incentive Program is to encourage students
to improve their attendance and to reward students for good attendance. Students will be recognized in the school
newsletters, on the morning show, and/or at the Awards Programs.
