CAR RIDERS: Student car riders are encouraged to arrive and be dropped off between 7:20 a.m. and 7:35 a.m. at
the door by the educational building. Students are to open the doors to the cars on their own unless
assistance is needed. This would help with the flow of traffic. Remember, our school day begins at 7:30 a.m.,
and students are tardy unless they are in their classrooms before 7:35 a.m. No child should arrive before 7:20
a.m. or be unsupervised!!! It is vital that all parents follow procedures and use the car area safely. Cars are asked to
remain at the car rider sign at the side of the building by the cafeteria until 7:20 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. Buses are to enter
the front parking lot. Buses will load and unload at the front of the school. Our car riders are to enter our campus from
East Blackmon Street. Students should exit cars on the passenger side at the sidewalk and enter the educational
building door. Seatbelts must be worn by all passengers in vehicles. “Buckle Up,” and be safe!

CAR RIDER AFTERNOON PICKUP
Afternoon dismissal is 2:35 p.m. Students should be picked up in the car rider area. As parents arrive, a staff member
will call students to the car rider area for student safety and accountability. The parent is to display their student car
rider sign in the front window of their car. A sign will be given to the parent at registration. If the sign is not
displayed for any reason, the adult picking the student up will need to report to the front office to present
identification and to sign out the student. If a parent knows that someone else will pick up their child, they have the
right to give their sign to that person for permission.

All students must be picked up at 2:35. A late charge may be assessed for students who are repeatedly picked
up late. Law enforcement or DSS may be notified in warranted circumstances.

CAR RIDER SAFETY
Please be patient, buckle up, and drive with caution and LOVE! It is vital that you practice safety at all
times. PLEASE make sure that your child, other students, and teachers and staff are away from your car
before you move. Please do not pass other cars in the car rider line. Cars are to remain in a single line. PLEASE
DISPLAY YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON THE DASH OR VISOR EACH DAY!
For the safety of our students, please keep your child’s name visible until your child is in your car.

Cars are to enter the side of the building from East Blackmon Street at 7:20 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. Students should exit
cars on the passenger side at the sidewalk and then walk on sidewalk to enter the building.
