After participating in a web conference with author Jason
Reynolds, Cowpens Middle School student, Kailey Carter,
won a paperback copy of his novel, As Brave As You. The
library media center sponsored the book drawing, and student
teacher Sara White presented the student winners with their
new books. Reynolds, a National Book Award Finalist for
Young People’s Literature, talked about his writing and being
a reluctant reader as a teenager.
Broome High School football players helped Cowpens
Middle School eighth graders understand maps and
graphs during their SC History class.
Cowpens Middle School’s
volleyball team were co-division
champs and conference Cowpens Middle School
tournament runner-ups.
Sixth graders at Cowpens Middle School got their feet
wet in a mini PBL as graphic designers - designing a
red ribbon week door.
