Inpatient: HIG Descriptions
Day Surgery: ON CACS Descriptions
Inpatient (HIG):
• At both sites, inpatients account for only 10% of total volumes.
• Hysterectomy with Non-Malignant Diagnosis (HIG #501) is the primary driver of inpatient volumes at both sites.
Day Surgery (ON CACS):
• Day surgery accounts for 90% of volumes at both sites.
• SMH has ~2x the outpatient volumes of SJHC.
• Minor Female Reproductive Interventions (HIG #469) drive the majority of volumes at both sites,
followed Dilation/Curettage and Endometrial Ablation (CACS #466).
• At SMH, Urogynaecology (CACS #452) and Oncology (CACS #801) are significant contributors to
Day Surgery volumes. 88
