Paediatric Inpatient Case Mix

Inpatient (HIG):

• SJHC has ~4x the inpatient volume
compared to SMH.

• Neonate Jaundice (over 2500 grams) is the
most common contributor to volumes

• At SJHC Pneumonia, Asthma, and
Upper/low Respiratory Infection are also
strong contributors to inpatient volumes.

Performance

• Both sites have a lower LOS relative to
ELOS for Neonate Jaundice (over 2500
grams).

• SJHC has an equivalent or lower LOS
compared to ELOS for Pneumonia, Asthma,
Upper/low Respiratory Infection, and non-
severe Enteritis.
