EXECUTTIVE TEAM BIOGRAPHIES
Dr. Glen BBandiera – MMAC Chair, Proovidence Heaalthcare and SSt. Michael’ss Hospital
Dr. Glen Bandiera joined St. Michhael’s Hospitaal in 1999. HHe currently serves as chhief of Emerggency
Medicine at St. Michaeel’s Hospital aand associatee dean, Postgrraduate Meddical Education at the Univversity
of Torontto where he holds the raank of full professor. He served for 110 years as aa staff emerggency
physician and Trauma Team Leader at St. Michaael’s Hospital, one of onlyy two traumaa centres servving a
populatioon of over 7 million peopple. Dr. Banddiera’s acadeemic interestts are in facuulty development,
curriculumm design and competency assessment aand he has puublished wideely in these areas.
Dr. Bandiiera’s past positions incluude chair of the Accredittation Commmittee of thee Royal Colleege of
Physicianss and Surgeoons of Canadaa, responsiblee for setting and monitorring the standdards for oveer 700
residencyy programs in 67 specialtiees across Canada, and chair of the Royaal College Emmergency Meddicine
Specialty Committee.
Dr. Bandiera has degreees in Engineeering (Waterrloo), Medicinne (McMaster) and Education (OISE/UTT). He
completed an Emergency Medicine Residencyy with advanced training in Traumaa Resuscitatioon at
McMaster University.
