Th e major modernization of the University’s science facilities is the largest building project in the University’s history and the largest
capital improvement project in DCAMM’s history.
Th is project included the renovation of the existing Marshall Conant Science Building and the construction of a major addition
to accommodate science/teaching laboratories, classrooms, offi ces and support space for the Biology, Chemical Sciences, Earth
Sciences, Geography, Math, Computer Science and Physics Departments. Program included more than 85 labs, 18 general purpose
classrooms, an observatory and a rooftop botanical garden.
Th is building and project has enabled the State to be a competitive entity within the higher learning undergraduate community
for private and public Universities.
