9. Torches
Se basa en unos versos de la epopeya hindú Mahbarata en los que se describen animales atrapados en un incendio:

The animals scattered in all directions, Los animales se dispersaban en todas direcciones
Screaming terrible screams. gritando gritos terribles.
Many were burning others were burnt. Muchos estaban ardiendo, otros abrasados.
All were shattered and scatterd mindlessly, Todos estaban destrozados y dispersos,
their eyes bulging, con ojos inflamados.
Some hugged their sons, others their fathers and mothers, Algunos abrazaban a sus hijos, y otros a sus padres y madres,
unable to let them go, and so they die. incapaces de abandonarlos: y por eso morían.
Others leapt up in their thousands faces disfigured Otros se alzaban por miles, con rostros desfigurados
and were consumed by the fire, y eran consumidos por el fuego.
Every where were bodies squirming on the ground, Por todas partes había cuerpos retorciéndose en el suelo,
wings, eyes an paws all burning. brazos, ojos, piernas abrasándose.
They breathed their last as living torches, torches Respiraban su último aliento como antorchas vivientes.
