LESSON 8

Writing a letter

As Easter approaches, let the children think of a person they know who may be working
abroad or is in difficult circumstances. Show them how to write a letter with some
encouragement in it, perhaps including Bible verses, where appropriate.

LESSON 9

Writing an invitation

Read Luke 14:15-24 and discuss the way the guests were invited. Show the children some
invitations to a party or a wedding. Let them imagine that they are having a birthday party
and show them how to write an invitation as a letter but also as a card with essential
information only, e.g. time, place, dress code, etc.

LESSONS 10-11

Writing the Easter Story

Let the children write about the Easter story either by pretending to be one of the disciples
or by being a newspaper reporter writing about events in Jerusalem.
