WRITING SENTENCES
Truth to Teach (Source)
To review the half term’s work
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review the previous lessons.
2. Let the children pick out slips of paper from three bags, one paper with a person,
one paper with a place, one paper with a thing written on them, eg
a postman Oxford an elephant
3. More able children could make up a sentence with all three words in. Others may use
two words. Less able children may write short sentences with one of the words in
each. Give lots of examples before the children try their own sentences in their
books.
4. Remind the children about the use of ‘a’ and ‘an’.
5. Some children may be able to underline the vowels in their naming words.
6. End by thanking God for the English language which enables us to talk to each other
and form friendships.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The lesson should have reviewed and reinforced the half term’s work on vowels, ‘a’
and ‘an’ and naming words.
