"Well, Keith --" but Alonzo is interrupted.
"Alright, Keith ... You may feel a pinch or two," Nurse Kay interjects while
feeling and checking Keith’s pulse. Next, she glares at the criteria and discharge
instructions to ensure Keith's safe discharge. Then she notes his pulse.
"Here's a script,” she continues. “Get them filled at your pharmacy. Take a
couple at a time for pain, as needed, but no more than three times a day."
"Okay," with a smile.
"Any questions?" gives him two papers, Discharge Instructions and Patient's
Rights.
"None … Thank you, Kay."
"Splendid ... You may follow up with your doctor if there are other concerns."
"Okay ... Thank you." He reaches for his damaged helmet after Kay takes her
leave.
"You alright?" Alonzo pries.
"Yeah. But I'm going to need a ride," Keith replies. "Didn't realize I'll be
discharged today. He glares at Alonzo, and continues, "My parents live in Kennesaw."
"Sure, no worries. I'll be happy to give you a ride."
