JACK GUSCOTT CHARITY FOURS
JACK GUSCOTT CHARITY FOURS
Named after an old former member of Broadclyst SMBC, the event was held to raise money
for the Cullompton Friends Charity shop in support of F.O.R.C.E. - Cancer research UK.
Broadclyst has run a number of these events and have raised a lot of money for charity.
Sixteen teams were lined up in four groups of four, with the winners of each group
playing in the semi-finals. After a very hard fought day of bowling, Ottery
St. Mary, Hutton, Exeter Nomads and Cerne Abbas were the qualifiers.
Making their way through to the final were Hutton and Exeter No-
mads. The final proved to be a very exciting game and after eight of the
nine ends were completed, the scores stood at 8 all with all to play for on
the final end. The hero of the day was Frank Paige, who drew in for shot
and victory for Hutton.
Wendy Pring, the Manager of the Cullompton Friends Charity Shop
presented the prizes to the winners and runners-up. The total raised on
Wendy Pring
the day was £447.75.
