                               JACK GUSCOTT CHARITY FOURS
               Named after an old former member of Broadclyst SMBC, the event was held to raise money
               for the Cullompton Friends Charity shop in support of F.O.R.C.E. - Cancer research UK.
               Broadclyst has run a number of these events and have raised a lot of money for charity.
                     Sixteen teams were lined up in four groups of four, with the winners of each group
                                  playing in the semi-finals. After a very hard fought day of bowling, Ottery
                                  St. Mary, Hutton, Exeter Nomads and Cerne Abbas were the qualifiers.
                                        Making their way through to the final were Hutton and Exeter No-
                                  mads. The final proved to be a very exciting game and after eight of the
                                  nine ends were completed, the scores stood at 8 all with all to play for on
                                  the final end. The hero of the day was Frank Paige, who drew in for shot
                                  and victory for Hutton.
                                        Wendy Pring, the Manager of the Cullompton Friends Charity Shop
                                    presented the prizes to the winners and runners-up. The total raised on

                                    the day was £447.75.

                                                              Thanks to the hard work put in by Broadclyst
                                                              Secretary Janet Cuff, a 100% grant from Sport
                                                              England enabled the club to take delivery of a
                                                              brand new three mat electric wind up machine
                                                              that has been named “Rebecca”.
